An ancient form of massage dating back
to the time of Buddha. Designed to be both relaxing
and stimulating, Thai massage is a cross between shiatsu,
acupressure and yoga. Our highly trained Thai massage
therapist and teacher will apply pressure along meridian
lines with thumbs, hands and feet to stimulate the
movement of energy in the body. The client is moved
and stretched in Yoga-like poses to free muscular
and joint tension. Thai improves flexibility, reduces
tension, stimulates internal organs and balances the
body's energy system. For your comfort and best results,
it is advised to bring sweat pants and a t-shirt or
any loose clothing.
This form of massage is for a client
with energy blockages. Traditional Thai massage techniques
are incorporated with other modalities. Energy (Sen)
lines are opened up with advanced Thai and deep tissue
stretching. Our highly trained therapist and teacher
will incorporate a personal postural analysis and
energy blockage test.
It uses a system of long strokes, kneading,
and friction percussive and vibration techniques on
the more superficial layers of muscles, combined with
active and passive movements of the joints. Promotes
relaxation, relieves tension, improves blood circulation
and range of motion.
This technique is designed to reach
the deep portions of thick muscles. Using deep muscle
compression and friction along the grain of the muscle,
its purpose is to unstick the fibers of the muscles
and release both toxins and deeply held patterns
of tension. Specific hand positions and strokes are
used to respond to various tissue qualities. Techniques
employing breath and movement are also used for releasing
muscular congestion. This massage provides an invigorating
experience.
This is a form of deep tissue work that
focuses on the connective tissue in the body. The
fascia - a saran wrap kind of tissue that holds together
all muscles, arteries, bones and organs - responds
to the trained touch to release the adverse effects
of tensions, inflammation or trauma. Stimulates the
nervous system and helps relax the whole body.
Based on the ancient Oriental theory
that meridian lines or pathways carry energy throughout
the body, this is an acupressure-type technique on
the hands and feet. Since each zone or part of the
body has a corresponding reflex point on the feet,
stimulating that reflex point causes stimulation in
the natural energy of the related organ. Offers a
very relaxing experience.
This is a form of deep tissue therapy
for people who like a lot of pressure or having chronic
pains or past injuries. Cross fiber friction is used
on the origins and insertions of a muscle group.
The belly of the muscle is then engaged with stripping
and slow friction. This specific and sciesntific
approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring
balance between the musculoskeletal system and the
nervous system.
This special form of massage is used
before or after athletic events to prepare the athlete
for peak performance, drain away fatigue, relieve
swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility
and prevent injuries. Depending on the needs of the
athlete, a variety of techniques are used including
Deep tissue Swedish massage, Trigger Point Massage
and Lymphatic Massage. Golfers, tennis players, swimmers
or long distance runners will feel the benefits.
This massage combines Deep Tissue and
Reflexology techniques with the use of essential oils
and natural aromas to further enhance your relaxation
or stimulation experience and heal the body.
Specialized breathing and massage techniques
used to increase energy, release tension and relax
body and spirit. Relieves aches and pains caused by
the anterior weight of the baby, especially in the
neck, shoulders, low back and abdomen. Improves circulation
and promotes well-being for both mother and baby.
This
massage combines facial pressure points, rhythmic
contouring strokes, and specific sculpting moves
to relax, uplift and tone 60 muscles contained on
the face. Accupressure points on the face
are stimulated to open the energy meridians and to
release deeper muscle tension. The sinus pressure
points are activated to open a fresh and new aliveness
in breathing. The feeling is beyond description as
each muscle lets go of the daily stress patterns.
A feeling of aliveness and freshness takes over your
face as you enjoy your massage.
Scalp
massage is not only extremely relaxing and calming,
it also helps relieve headaches and migraines and stimulates
blood flow which in turn helps feed the hair follicles.
Gentle hair pulling scalp massage causes a release
of tension in the micro muscles surrounding each
hair follicle, restoring pliability to your scalp,
and causing the relaxation response in your entire
body.
Heated basalt stones
are placed on and around the body to warm the muscles
and decrease tension. The body is then massaged with
warm stones and essential oils that increase circulation,
release muscular tension, decrease pain and deeply
relax the body. This treatment gently sedates and
relaxes the body, mind and spirit.
